How To Make Homemade Lavender Body Butter


I try to find and publish as many things as possible that are related to lavender oil on this blog since I know that it is most of your favorite herb and essential oil. Today I have a simple, beautiful looking and delightful smelling Lavender Body Butter recipe for you.

Lavender is much more than just pretty & calming. It is one of the most powerful remedies in the plant world, offering both physical and emotional relief for problems as varied as burns, migraines, insomnia, insect bites, skin problems, infections, stress and nervous tension. It owes this amazing spectrum of healing powers to its complex chemical makeup.


Lavender is particularly rich in aromatic molecules called esters, which are antispasmodic, pacifying and tonic, while other molecules give it its antiviral, bacterial and anti-inflammatory powers.     4 Tbsp coconut oil
    1.5 Tbsp olive oil
    2 Tbsp. beeswax
    1 Tsp. honey
    3 Tbsp. aloe vera gel
    2 Tsp. lanolin
    10 drops lavender essential oil
    1 Vitamin E capsule

    – In double boiler over medium-high, heat oils, beeswax and honey.
    – In a separate double boiler over medium-high, heat aloe. Once melted, mix into beeswax mixture. Stir.
    – Add lanolin & stir.
    – Once mixture has melted, turn heat to low. Stir in vitamin E and essential oil. Whip until smooth.
    – Pour into small glass jars and let cool before covering.
